This NZ deposit calculator helps separate the target property price from the cash you may have available for a deposit. It multiplies the target price by your chosen deposit percentage, then compares that target with savings, KiwiSaver funds, and other money entered by you.
Use it early in a buyer workflow to see whether the gap is mainly a deposit issue, a buying-cost issue, or a wider affordability question. General information only. Estimate only. Results depend on user inputs.
For a $750,000 target price and a 20% target deposit, the required deposit is $150,000. If your entered funds total $75,000, the planning gap is $75,000.
A first-home buyer could then open the buying costs calculator to separate legal, LIM, inspection, valuation, and moving costs from the deposit figure.
This calculator does not check KiwiSaver eligibility, First Home Grant settings, lender policy, gifted deposit rules, income, expenses, credit history, or property-specific conditions.
It does not imply lending approval, affordability, valuation certainty, legal compliance, or that the entered deposit percentage is required by a lender. Not legal, financial, tax, valuation, mortgage, insurance, investment, property, lending, or compliance advice.
The calculation is based only on user-entered figures and a simple percentage comparison. Review deposit sources against bank guidance, KiwiSaver provider information, sale and purchase timing, solicitor advice, and current NZ housing support settings where relevant.
Use the buyer property planning workflow to carry deposit, buying-cost, LVR, DTI, and repayment checks into one estimate-only summary.
